A first-year writing student handed in a paper that consistently misspelled "Sontag" as "Santog."
I picture "Santog" as a cross between Santa and a Balrog: a giant red slobbery troll-like monster that shoots flame and hurls presents at you.
My housemate thought of "Sandhog," a desert-dwelling rodent.
Any other thoughts? Or other writing mishaps?
