all snazzy

Anyone read this who goes to the M/S/A conference and would be interested in participating in a roundtable next fall? I already so don't want to present a whole paper, but I need to get money from my university somehow, and the roundtables I've been to actually seem relatively low-pressure and fun. There's a lot of time still, but email me if you might be down.

Manitoba Sewers Association?

Mandibles Seem Appropriate?

Magicians of other Secret Entities? (MooSe?)

More Students Applying? (a very bitter grad unemployment association)

Mediterranean Scholars Amalgamated?
(they have great conferences on the beach at Naples)

Specify, specify! You can't expect me to figure out _which_ of my secret societies you're alluding to!

you're a member of the Manitoba Sewers Association too?? do I have some rat stories for you...

a google search turns up the Mycological Society of America (all about fungi) and Mine Safety Applicances, your purveyor of such products as respirators, air purifiers, head lamps...

here's a (big) clue: *my* organization has ties to such illustrious [m-word]s as Gertrude Stein and Ezra Pound.

Oooh! Damn! I wish I had come up with that one! I had some funnier ones, but didn't respond to the post right away. Moral of the story: strike while the iron is hot.

And for the other thing: go to the grad student lunch if they have it again; it was good low-pressure networking.

Ooh, that does sound good. When I was there 2 years ago there was no such thing.
