I'm $9 away from free shipping on a book I need to order; but whenever I come up with a book that might fill in the $9, it's much cheaper to buy it used.
Help! What book do I want that's worth buying online, new?

I've heard awfully good things about Jo Walton's Farthing, and I've been pleased with Naomi Novik's Temeraire series...
I'm intrigued by Walton. I read the first Temeraire book, though, and it didn't live up to my expectations. It's possible that I was simply expecting more O'Brien-like excitement over nerdy technical details.
