Hmmm, I'm starting to write this second chapter, and having difficulty figuring out how it's going to fit with the dissertation project as I originally imagined it. Let's return to the proposal and see what I said about it.

I seem to have forgotten that what my first chapter is about is not identical to what the dissertation project as a whole is (supposedly) about. Notably, how I described the project to people in the context of showing them the first chapter is not actually how I initially envisioned it. Which might mean revisions alllll the way down the line, but not something to bother about now. Whew. OK, back to work.
